Weekly Summary

The Season’s Upon Us

It’s that time of year. Yes I mean Christmas. The problem with holidays is that although there seems to be a lot of free time, it disappears really quickly. Combine that with the abundance of food and it is not the cyclists most optimal time. For a second year in a row I am proud to say I trained over the Christmas holidays as normal. Therefore in the coming weeks I will be going up, rather than trying to catch up with missed training time. A tip to avoid overeating at the Xmas dinner is to eat a big breakfast, small snack for lunch and let the overeating at dinner commence!

Glimpse of Hope

Mid December…It was sunny, it was above freezing…maybe just maybe I could switch the trainer for the open road. Yes…but no…although temperatures hovered a bit above freezing, the roads were wet in the morning, meaning it would only take a slightly lower temperature to cause black ice on my favorite mountain roads sooo I had to resolve to the trainer..outside…looking at the mountains I have grown to love. Oh well only 2-3 months more to go.=)
