Weekly Summary
Autumn
There is something soothing when the seasons change.
The biting morning cold, slowly warming up to balmy temperatures as the kilometers tick.
And the quiet…nobody is in a rush to get out before the sun.
Last week I genuinely enjoyed riding. I had a blast on the trainer, whether it was my renewed motivation for next season or the movies I watched (Les Femmes du 6eme étage and Goodbye Lenin, both of which I highly recommend), the hours went by super fast!
On Sunday, I had to remind myself that every kilometer going out, I would have to ride back, because it was beautiful… I was not feeling tired at all. I had so much fun I even stopped for coffee on a roadside cafe on the way back.
All in all, even though I am starting to increase my training volume I am not feeling any (saddle) discomfort (quite the opposite) and no weird joint pains; just my lower back being a bit stiff from getting back into the aggressive road position. Although, I know the last remaining colorful leaves would be replaced by the cold and gray of winter, I am actually quite looking forward to it, because as they say
Champions are made in the off-season
I am also thinking of adding a movie list for indoor trainer distraction/enjoyment so stay tuned!
